Personalized Math Learning with Khan Academy
At Education Comes First (ECF), we believe that every child deserves a strong foundation in math. That’s why all 26 of our grant-funded sites integrate Khan Academy, a free, expert-developed learning app, into our math programming.
How It Works
With Khan Academy, ECF members experience personalized learning tailored to their individual needs. Whether they are catching up, working at grade level, or striving to advance beyond, our members receive the focused practice they need to succeed.
Each week, ECF members spend at least 40-60 minutes on Khan Academy, guided by our dedicated staff, who act as teachers within the platform. Through virtual classrooms, staff track progress, celebrate achievements, and provide targeted support to help students thrive.

Cesar And Aybrielle have shown great improvement in their ability to recognize site words and read age/grade appropriate materials. They are both English learners which has often been a hiccup to their learning. They love reading and learning using the tablets. Encouragement comes from the teachers, mentors and by getting the okay from the Khan Academy unit testing. For the first time, they’ve both have shown an interest & excitement to learn the new ways and fun ways of reading, math, and spelling and some fun coloring games that Khan has offered for their level. They're striving more and more!
